This robust and compact enlarger is an ideal first time buy for anyone taking up home processing. In common with all of Meopta’s current range; it is constructed of tough cast steel, has smooth twin railed bellows focusing, easy head elevation by geared crank handle, magnification scale on column, wall /floor projection facility, a red swing filter and a tough wooden baseboard. The enlarger head is fitted with a colour filter drawer for printing with variable contrast papers and has a double concave glass condenser, covering negatives up to 24x36mm. A hinged glassless 35mm plastic negative carrier ensures easy film registration. (See table for more detailed specifications.)

The Axomat 5 Black & White is a deluxe version of the "Standard" model. The advantages are; a taller column (allowing greater magnification), a larger baseboard, extensive lens plain adjustments for the correction of line distortions on your negatives (Sheimpflug rectification), a metal negative carrier with an ingenious split line focusing aid and the ability to lock the carrier ajar while still inserted into the enlarger head: enabling rapid negative changes.

The same enlarger as the Axomat 5 Black & White, apart from two differences; the monochrome condenser head is replaced by the versatile Meopta Color 3 colour head ( for full description see accessories) and a fine focusing control is fitted with a 6:1 reduction ratio giving the user more critical adjustment. The dichroic diffusion colour head with Stepless filtration of up to 200 (Meopta) units of Yellow, Magenta and Cyan is provided by 3 illuminated dials, which are located on the front of the head. A fourth dial provides stepless neutral density adjustment of up to 2 stops. and two "white light" levers. This model comes complete with a 35mm mixing chamber an transformer.

Identical in size and electrical specifications to the Color 3 model, the Meograde head will replace the condenser head of any current Meopta black and white enlarger. A single filtration dial for contrast grades 0 to 5 (in half grade steps) has the advantage of retaining uniform exposure throughout the contrast range of V.C. black & white papers. A neutral density dial is also provided. As with the Color Enlarger, the relevant mixing chamber and a separate transformer are supplied as standard.
